Tear it up! This Spring is all about denim. Frayed denim is no longer a sign of a sad pair of jeans that should be destined for the garbage. Denim has been one of the top most versatile fabrics in Fashion. Denim is always taking different forms, shapes and colors depending on the season and the designer of the moment. Just look at how Vetements has changed the game. They have made fraying and re-worked denim such a trend on the street and editorially. Lately, frayed denim and re-imagined silhouettes are all the rage when it comes to Fashionistas and Street style stars.

If you are wearing distressed or torn jeans, make sure to have every other aspect of your outfit clean cut and fresh. This will draw attention away from the ripped part of the jeans and make them calculatedly cool. The darker the wash, the more dressy the jeans.

Even though we’d all like to go out and purchase that new, hot denim out, our wallets don’t always allow for it. Look in your closet and work with what you got. If you don’t have the funds to go out and get a new pair of jeans, why not try distressing an old pair. Check out this great video by youtuber Elevated Ike. He gives great fashion advice and tips on his channel.
